100 YEARS OF FEDERICO FELLINI AND HIS CONGENIAL PARTNER NINO ROTA
Federico Fellini is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful characters in Italian cinema. His films like “Casanova”, “Orchestra rehearsal/Prova d’orchestra” or his early film “The Bullocks/The Idle People” are both fascinating and confusing. Federico Fellini has often pushed the boundaries of propriety and sometimes almost tolerance. But what would your oeuvre do without music? It’s hard to imagine a series of great and iconic images without the defining melodies that make a scene or a moment even more penetrating and touching. Fellini found the composer in Nino Rota a worthy partner who immersed his works in sounds that without which the artistic spirit would not have been able to appeal to the international film audience as much as it did. On the occasion of Federico Fellini’s 100th birthday, we would like to put music at the forefront of our film project. We believe that in the Danubia Orchestra of Óbuda and its conductor, Marcello Rota, we have found the perfect partner to unravel the success of this great creative couple.
